🐾  Update on the Florence 10 (RIP Pollyanna) 🐾

Jackie & Joe Joe

All infections have been resolved for both dogs. Joe Joe has completed his dental work and fistula repair and is doing great—he has been released from the specialist. For Jackie, unfortunately 2 out of the 3 fistulas that were repaired opened back up so he will be going to a specialist in a month to fix those. He is also waiting to see if his ear infection has resolved. He will not be ready to go home with Joe Joe for at least another few months. We will be looking for a foster to adopt for Jackie & Joe Joe while we finish Jackie’s vetting.

Rex

All infections have been resolved. Rex currently has low albumin levels and recently had an ultrasound to see if we could determine why his levels are low. We are awaiting the results. Once his levels improve and the cause is determined, he will undergo surgery. His status remains on hold until then.

Scarlett & Ellie

All infections have been resolved for both girls. Scarlett has a heart murmur and was evaluated by a cardiologist; at this time, no medication is needed. She is all set with her fistula repair. She has been spayed and is now ready for adoption.

Ellie had her dental and fistula repair and has been cleared by the specialist. She has been spayed and is ready for adoption.

Scarlett & Ellie can be adopted individually, or as a pair. Please see our Available Dogs page for more info.

Bugg & Freckles

Their ear, eye, and skin infections have all resolved. Both underwent fistula repair surgeries, had their follow-up appointments, and have now been released by the dental specialist. They will be available for adoption as a bonded pair very soon.

Duchess

All infections have resolved. Duchess was the first to undergo fistula surgery; unfortunately, the initial procedure was not successful. She received a second surgery to repair this and she was spayed. The vet said it was in her best interest to leave the small mammary tumors alone. We did chest & abdominal X-rays & have found no sign of cancer.  Duchess is now available for adoption.

Spencer

Spencer’s skin and ear infections have resolved. His eye infection is still being treated with medication. He had dental work and an oral fistula repair; however, the first surgery was not successful. He underwent a second procedure on January 28, and it was successful. He is now gaining weight to prepare for his neuter
